FAQ's
My outside unit is leaking water. What do I do?
- Heat pumps have to go into defrost mode, some water runoff
is normal. Please be cautious in the winter months as this water
may refreeze on the ground and become slick.
My electric bill was really high this winter,
even with my heat pump. Whats wrong?
- Is the thermostat set to emergency heat? If so you are by
passing your heat pump and using your electrical heat instead.
Switch your thermostat to heat to utilize your heat pump and
start saving money on your electrical bill.
- Are you manually varying the temperature on your thermostat?
If so then you are making your heat pump work harder than it
should. Use a programmable thermostat to set temperatures or
manually set it at a comfortable temperature and leave it there.
You can modify room temperatures by closing vents or adding
space heaters.
There's smoke coming out of the top of my heat
pump. Should I worry?
My indoor unit makes different noises in the summer than in
the winter. Does this denote a problem?
- That's
nothing to worry about. Sometimes due to the seasonal changes in
outdoor temperature and the reversing of the freon the indoor
coils sound different
